Abba Matjes in whole fillets has a traditionally round spicy taste and is particularly popular for use when you want to make nice arrangements. Why not a food wreath? Or claypot herring? Our matjes contain herring (Clupea harengus) of the highest quality, which is fished in the North East Atlantic and which only comes from viable stocks. The herring is allowed to mature in barrels with a layer of spices in our cellar in Kungshamn on the west coast of Bohuslän until it tastes its best and is ready to be enjoyed! Matjessill has a given place at the midsummer celebration or is eaten as it is together with fresh potatoes, sour cream, chives and a little browned butter.
